3TB Storage, Hard Drive Recommendation..?

- I need 3TB of storage, would it be safer to use one enterprise grade hard drive as a single drive or two desktop grade hard drives in RAID1?

- My mobo supports unbuffered ECC memory ASUS M2NBP-VC https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M2NBPVM_CSM/specifications/

Can I use this mobo with ZFS?

There have been issues in the past with mobos using NVIDIA chipsets not working properly with FreeNAS. The board is really not appropriate.

Virtually no AMD boards are listed because AMD has issue with open-source. One of our forum mods has an AMD system that works well enough for his function, but I don't know his model or anything.
