Upgraded from 11.1-U5 to 11.2-BETA2, but when rebooting the machine, it just keeps rebooting, without anything boot-related stuff on the screen.

I have a single encrypted ZFS volume on 5 x 8Tb drives with 3 x 250Gb SSD in stribe as cache.
The bootdrive is a 250Gb SSD hardware-RAID1 (LSI SAS w/battery)

I have checked the hw setup and found no problems, so the problem must be on the boot-drive, and propably the transition from GRUB to the new FreeNAS boothandler.

My own suggestion: download the 11.2-BETA2 image, and do an upgrade (preferable an in-place, if possible)

Does that sounds reasonable????

Install to new media. If you don't have a copy of the config database, you can retrieve it later from the old boot pool.

Also, make damned sure that you have all key backups in order before doing anything remotely destructive to the old boot pool.

Do you want to loose all your data ?
With an encrypted pool you want to run BETA software ????

Revert to 11.1-U5 and wait till all the bugs are out of 11.2..........

I had nearly the precisely same thoughts, with the identical words, running through my head as I read it.
