ZFS device fault for pool, but drive seems fine.

I started receiving emails about a device fault, which happens. This particular pool was a simple 2 disk mirror, thankfully not one of the larger pools, which could take forever to resilver. Anyhow I have hot spares, so back up and running.

I was going to open a warrantee claim with the HD vendor and figured I should rerun the long smart test and badblocks to make sure the fault was well documented, but both came back negative for any issues.

What is it that TrueNAS Scale has identified? Every other drive failure I've ever experienced is pretty cut and dry. Now I haven't powered off/pulled this drive, so it hasn't stopped spinning, maybe it won't fire back up? I'm almost considering putting it back in service, but don't want to put anything at risk if this has already been identified as a failed drive. I just have NO idea what to provide to the HD vendor at this point?

I also noticed a firmware update from Seagate. I'm going to upgrade to SN04 and put this drive back in service.

What kind of controller are you using to attach the disks? Random errors tend to be controller and/or cabling.

This drive, including 7 others are running directly off the MB's (X12SPi-TF) Intel PCH SATA 3.0 Ports over a Mini-SAS HD to 4xSATA cables. Other drives are running over the same cabling and Supermicro AOC-S3008L-L8E 12Gbps SAS-3 HBA and NVMEs on Supermicro AOC-SLG3-2M2's.

I did have one cable failure which resulted in endless faults, but was replaced long ago and that cable caused issues nearly out of the gate. Cables are Supermicro CBL-SAST-0810. I do have extra cables and maybe this scenario warrants swapping that out?

Try swapping drives and see if the problem follows the cable or the drive.

I have since swapped the position of these drives (different sata connector on same cable), updated the firmware and no issues so far.
