Yet another usb issue ..

I grabbed FreeNAS-9.2.0-RELEASE-x64.img.xz ..

did my ...

Can't boot to the usb stick. I've tried two different brands, one 4gb and one 8gb ..

Has anyone had this happen, all appears well ... boot to it .. nada.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

edit; one is a sandisk cruzer gator 4gb, one is a microcenter 8gb.. error I get on boot is "missing operating system". i.e. not bootable.

Never had problems in the past with it .. odd and frustrating.

Okay, since there is a dvd drive in the machine, I am trying the route of burning the install iso to a disc, and installing it to a usb drive on the machine. Heres hoping, I'm tired of crawling around under the stairs to put a disc in, put a usb drive in, over and over :P

Back again ... the boot from cd and install to usb worked. Should have tried that 2hrs ago and about a dozen munchin land trips under the stairs to my servers.
