Where to get Jail templates for Linux?

Hi,

Where can I get a template for a linux distro from?

For example, I would like either CentOS or Ubuntu Linux jail to run on FreeNAS.

I know I can use VirtualBox but I would prefer something slightly close to the metal.

If I have to make my own, how can I tarball the entire ubuntu installation?

Linux jails were pulled from freenas because they were terrible enough to cause brain damage. At present virtual box is the way to go. Freenas 10 will add the ability to create bhyve vms.

I'm running Gentoo inside the VirtualBox in FreeNAS 9.3. Performance is very acceptable, and so far, no stability surprises....
