What is Plex exactly?

I have seen there is a new App called Plex.

I have heard about it and realise it does something with your media.
But is it just an organizer of media or does it play your media?

As in if I have a collection already, will it sort it out?
Or is it mainly as a player, so I can connect to my Plex media box from another device and play my media back?

I already have a XBMC HTPC box setup/connected to the TV, so would Plex benefit me?

Plex is a server/client setup of XBMC. It both organizes and plays your media.

Someone is too lazy to go to youtube and see Plex explained and demonstrated :P

Plex is kind of weak when used with xbmc.
