Hello,

We use a freenas that is hosted on VMware ESXi 5.5 with ZFS storage as well as jails.

Our configuration is as follows:

Build FreeNAS-9.2.1.8-RELEASE-x64 (e625626)
Platform Intel (R) Xeon (R) CPU X3430 @ 2.40GHz
Memory 3050MB
System Time Thu Jun 04 11:22:33 CEST 2015

I want to add 5gb of ram to the server.

After adding memory, VM and services work properly but the web interface is not working.

The 2 process django and nginx are started.

Logs nginx:
"GET / reporting / generate / unit = hourly & plugin = aggregation-cpu-sum & step = 4 & identifier = 1433324579881 & cache = HTTP / 1.1?" 302 5 "https://url.test.com/" "Mozilla / 5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit / 537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome / 43.0.2357.81 Safari / 537.36 "

I tried to restart nginx and django but I get the same problem.
I think the problem is django.
With 3gb its works.

We also see that the RAM is almost not consumed when there is 8GB (cf pj)

An idea? Is this a bug in this build?

Thanks !

The RAM won't be "consumed" as you say, until you start doing something with the ZFS file system. Whenever the system is rebooted, you should find most of the RAM is free, until you start doing something. This is normal.

If you are running FreeNAS inside of ESXi 5.5, then sir, I will wish you luck. Most of the time, if someone chooses to run FreeNAS in production under a hypervisor, then they will be on their own in terms of support. Maybe someone else will help you further, but I cannot.
