In the last period I'm experiencing some strange behaviour so i started to worried about the healty of my server.
In particular it happen that i receveid this email error:
Code:
* Pool media state is UNAVAIL: One or more devices are faulted in response to IO failures.

I don't know if they are connected but the entire Freenas server remain stucked (cannot access at all from webgui) so i had to reboot the machine.
After rebooting the pool come back ONLINE without any error, to be sure that there are some problems i have looked at SMART but i don't know how to really read at it
This is the report:

Selective self-test flags (0x0):
After scanning selected spans, do NOT read-scan remainder of disk.
If Selective self-test is pending on power-up, resume after 0 minute delay.

In the Attribute table the only strange value is Raw_Read_Error_Rate, but i'have read that is better to look at it too much. While in self test log there are a lot of "Completed: read failure"
Right know I'm running a Long test to have more data available
What do you suggest? The HDD is under warranty until 16 October of this year

I would replace any drive that fails short or long SMART tests. This drive should qualify for a replacement under warranty.

Best of luck!

This disk has been failing SMART tests pretty consistently for five months, and this is the first you've seen of it? You need to get email alerting configured properly, and you also need to schedule long tests periodically. But to your question, I'd definitely RMA this drive. Do it as an advance exchange, and make sure to burn in the replacement thoroughly before putting it into service.

Thank you for the confirmation. I have smart control Cron activated but not the email notification on this pool (is not a critical one, it used for entertainment so If I loose I can have back with some time)
The only problem is that I don't have sata port for replace the HDD (and I cannot detach this one because is part of a RAID0)
Will be a problem if I put offline an hdd of the other pool (RAIDZ2), replace the disk in the pool and then reattach the Second pool HDD and put it back online? Will be a problem using the same sata port? Can I encounter in problem in the raidz2?
