Hi,

I've shucked a couple of WD MyBook 10TB 5400rpm drives and wanted to use them with my SuperMicro X11SSL-CF.
I first plugged them into a SATA port and they were showing up fine.

Switched them to another system where I previously had a pool of eight WD Reds. I disconnected power to 4 of them and replaced the other four with the 10TBs to start a badblocks test.

But... nothing! No drives in the UI, none listed with smartctl --scan and camcontrol devlist. They are also not showing in the controller BIOS.

Any idea what might be the issue? Running 11.2U4.

Thanks!

Thanks, I'll try that. I was hopeful because the onboard SATA controller detected the disks just fine. Has anyone else seen a difference between onboard SAS vs SATA controller and a 3.3V PIN?

It's most likely the 3.3V issue, as I was using a MOLEX adapter when I first tried my luck with the SATA ports!
