Volume expansion - different sized drives

Hi

I can't find anything conclusive, so I'm asking here.

I have a 6x2tb is a z2. I have 3x3TB drives that I was using as a backup, however I don't want to buy any more 3tb, as I think 4tb are more tb/$.

If I buy 3x4tb and go through the process of breaking the read and replacing with a large drive. At the end it will be;

3x3tb and 3x4tb

Will auto expand happen to expand it to 3tb across the z2? or will it just leave as it is and present 2tb per drive.

If I understand you correctly:

You currently have a 6-drive pool. If you auto-expand one at a time, half with 3tb and half with 4tb, when you do the last (sixth) drive, the whole pool will go to 6x3tb.
