Ubuntu VM installed on 11.2-U7 was working well, but after I upgrade to 11.3-STABLE, I can no longer connect via VNC or PuTTY.

Freenas > Virtual Machines, shows it to be on.

I've restarted the VM, powered off then on again. I also upgraded my pools which had no affect.

Seeing this in the logs:
[2020-02-29 08:39:13,784] (ERROR) VMService.vm_5.running():488 - ===> VMM zen is running without bhyve process. And this
[2020-02-29 08:39:13,803] (WARNING) VMService.vm_5.destroy_vm():351 - ===> Destroying VM: zen ID: 5 BHYVE_CODE: 1
Seeing this after running ps aux
root 81583 1.6 0.6 4242556 419904 - SC 09:22 1:01.24 bhyve: 5

seems to be a bug with VMs and VNC sessions. same thing happens to me since upgrading to 11.3.

the VM works fine as long as you dont try to connect to it. doing so causes it to crash. in my case I can access the VM via SSH or the webGUI that it's running, but as soon as I want to initiate a VNC connection it immediately crashes and the VM changes to "stopped".

I made a post about it here a couple days ago: https://www.ixsystems.com/community...crashing-when-initiating-a-vnc-session.82665/

in there you can find a link to the bug report. I would recommend you make a comment on there with your logs and debug file so the devs have more information to work with.

The VM wasn't working before I tried VNC or PuTTY. Perhaps this is unrelated. I don't know.

I guess no fix until we get an update?

I haven't seen any traffic since your last post on the bug report.

Just have to be patient.

Wondering if there's a way to copy VM files (FileZilla), and then kill the VM so I can start over? Or do all VMs just not work in 11.3?
