VM GPU Passthrough

Alright sportsfans, I've done through step #4 here: https://wiki.freebsd.org/bhyve/pci_passthru, and passed my gpu and its audio device through on bhyve, which indeed does show up as a 750ti in windows and ubuntu. However I'm still getting TrueNAS console through the HDMI port connected to the GPU on boot and while running either VM. I'm thinking this means that my pptdevs 'mask' tunable isn't actually working. Did I miss something?
