Seems the previous thread on this topic was just closed for no reason and with no resolution.
I just noticed that my TrueNAS machine with 128GB of RAM available is complaining about being "out of memory" when I try to boot up a new VM, while I can see 68 GiB of the RAM is free on the dashboard. On the Virtualization tab it says only 3.5GiB is free. There seems to be some consensus that this is because TrueNAS just blindly reserves 50% of the RAM to ZFS. This seems counter-productive and is very unexpected for me.
How do I change the reservation to be more in the 16-32 GiB range instead of 64 GiB?
