virtual machine won't connect to network after upgrading NIC

I had a network card fail so I swapped it out for a TPlink TX401 aka Aquantia AQC107. TrueNAS (TrueNAS-12.0-U8.1) itself is fine but my single virtual machine will no longer connect to the network. I can't seen anything obvious in dmesg output, I've tried removing and resinstalling NIC on the VM as either a e1000 or virtio (it used to be virtio) and multiple reboots of the NAS and the VM. The VM is ubuntu 20.04 and was been working fine until the change in NIC. How can I debug this?

TIA.

I've upgraded to TrueNAS-13.0-U3.1 - still broken.
Did the device name of the NIC change when you changed the card? If so you may need to re-add it to the bridge. That's what I'd try anyway.
