Very slow transfer speed and Freenas only shows 200 mb of memory

Well I'm new to Freenas and I got it up and running last night It's running a P4 with 2GB of ram which shows correctly in the bios but in freenas it only shows 200 mb of memory. What could be causing the problem? My 2nd problem is I have gigabit ethernet card and my transfer rate was very slow 500 k's for a 2GB file it was showing that it would take 9 hours to complete. I think it might be related to the first problem but not sure any help would be great thank you.

With only 2GB of ram your performance will be very low. Section 1.1.2 of the manual says zfs needs 6GB of ram minimum and therefore you should have 8GB of ram minimum. Im not sure anyone has ever tried to use freenas with only 2GB. Since the OS needs 2GB of ram you have to upgrade your ram.
