I have a server with 4x 7200rpm drives in a raidz1-0. It is a backup server that received zfs snapshots from a Nexenta box.
I am trying to now restore data off a snapshot by mounting it with "mount -t zfs" and then rsyncing from that mounted snapshot over to an NFS share across the network.
It is painfully slow. I am getting about 3.5 MB/sec. It is also very slow running "zfs list" and just doing an "ls" within the mounted snapshot.
I've done no tweaks to the freenas box and it has 12GB ram. Any ideas why the reading from mounted snapshots are sooo slow?
