Using a former data drive as a boot drive

Hello,

I'm wanting to a 120 GB SSD as a boot drive, but it was used in a pool in my last build. So when I install FreeNas onto that drive I get an error when I try to boot.

Is there something I'm missing when it comes to re-using a drive?

Thanks,

You probably need to do a clean on the drive and then do a full install. You just need to force the system to overwrite the boot sector. On the disks in the storage array, there is a message programmed into their boot sector that comes up and lets you know you are trying to boot from a data disk.
