I am running 9.2.1.7 with a fresh install on a amd dual core,8 gb memory, 6 hard drive whitebox pc. When setting up from scratch i am creating a local usergroup, adding multiple users(un/pw matching windows pc credentials on local workgroup), creating encrypted storage with nobody and custom usergroup credentials, windows permissions, and cifs share i have an issue with local usergroup resolving.

On a windows pc i add a file to the share. Right click on properties and a user group that does not resolve (the user does), but shows the sid instead.

in the console the following is shown
Sep 2 23:14:24 freenastest winbindd[5013]: [2014/09/02 23:14:24.891420, 0] ../source3/winbindd/winbindd_samr.c:769(sam_rids_to_names)

i have tried different thumb drives , reinstalled and configured tens of times, different computers. I have tried for months and don't understand where to go next. Any suggestions on why this is happening and what i can do about it?
