I've got an old install of 9.1 (FreeNAS-9.1.0-RELEASE-x64) that needs to be upgraded. The box has 16gb of RAM so I think I'm good there. Wondering if it's advisable to go straight to 11 via the iso, or should I do it incrementally with .txz in the GUI to get to 9.3 first and then switch trains? Config is backed up. Appreciate any advice.

You should be able to jump to 9.3 and then directly to 11 if you wanted to do the .txz files.

I think if I were you, I'd grab a new boot device (assuming you are using USB Flash) and upgrade it directly to 11 and then restore my config file. It should work fine. This option allows you to roll back in case you have an issue.
