Updating Nextcloud

Hello,

I'm currently running version23 of nextcloud and there is a small update release and it has brought up how should I update. Should I go through the Nextcloud GUI or update from the truenas plugin screen. Is one better than the other or is one more reliable or I shouldn't do one.

Nextcloud was installed through a plug in, In December last year have had no issues since it has started I just like to keep things up to date.

I followed this guide to install NextCloud How to install Nextcloud on FreeNAS in an iocage jail with hardened security.
But I think updating this is not so different to your way.
Before starting you should make snapshots or backups of NextCloud datasets.
I normally use the Web-Updater. Sometimes a timeout occures in the Create Backup step but then I simply reload the page or restart the update and it steps over it.
In the past some updates need changes in database structures, which are the displayed in web interface overview page. These changes need the use of occ command.
Here are some examples:

Thank you for the response.

I tried the nextcloud GUI updater, it came up with an error, I'll look into them later when I get a min,
I'm still in a major revision so I'm not to stressed at this stage.

If it's just the timeout then simply restart the Updater.

Hi mate

It wasn't a time out, it was missing a couple of files from memory, I'll get the error if your interested.

I just updated to 23.0.4 with the usual timeout.

After going back to Administration/Overview I simply restart the Updater and can continue with no problems.

What error did you get?

I cannot remember the fault. But now when I log back into the updater it says
Step 3 is currently in progress please reload this page later.

I restarted the plugin and still the same.
