Unable to access a jail

I have set up a number of jails, but am unable to access one of them.

If i click on the jails tab, select one of them and then click on the shell icon it doesn't open. All the others do.

I was able to ssh into it yesterday but can't even ping it now. I did do an upgrade today, followed by a backout, but have been unable access it again.

What to do?

How did you install these jails?
Are these plugins?
What are the jails?

I installed all the jails the same way, ie via the GUI:-

Jails -> Add Jail -> Jail Name -> OK

Nothing complicated. It did exist, and I was able to ssh into it or access it from the GUI by selecting the Jail and clicking on Shell.

I've tried stopping and starting it but it makes no difference.

If I copy the Jail's directory onto another systtem, is there anything I should look for to see why it isn't starting?

Did you have a look at /var/log/messages?

what does "iocage list" show?
