I'm trying to install a VM on my FreeNAS 11.1-U1 server. However, when I try to install Linux ISO, I get the following error immediately after the GRUB screen:

vncviewer_2019-01-16_19-10-22.png

ACPI Error: Could not enable RealTimeClock event (20170831/evxtevnt-218) Couldn't get size: 0x00000000000000e MODSIGN: Couldn't get UEFI db list Couldn't get size: 0x00000000000000e Couldn't get size: 0x00000000000000e INFO: task kworker/0:1:23 blocked for more than 120 seconds. Not tainted 4.15.0-29-generic #31-Ubuntu "echo 0 > /proc/sys/kernel/hung_task_timeout_secs" disables this message. BustBox v1.27.2 (Ubuntu 1:1.27.2-2ubuntu3) built-in shell (ash) Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands. (initramfs) Unable to find a medium containing a live file system

Any help would be appreciated.

Does the issue persist if you update to the latest version of the 11.1 branch (11.1-U6.3)? Assuming you meant that your current version is 11.1-U1 as stated.

I feel a little silly now. I thought I already had the latest version, but apparently I was way out of date... It works perfectly on U6.3!

I am having the same problem, I am trying to install Ubuntu on 18.04.4 on FreeNAS-11.3-U2.1. Every boot I get this same issue as well as not being able to get my VM's to install or work at all. I have tried changing the network and disk types to virtIO but that just causes other problems.

Few things to try whit VM 1 or 2 CPU only make sure you have enough ram min 1Gb should have 2Gb and enough HD space I normal y do 40Gb you could do 20Gb .. and you need to make sure that you your system has enough hardware to share or the system could become unstable..
I the past I have tried literally unpluging every not necessary before installing .. sorry for all The post but I cant seam to be able to edit post ..

This worked for me! I have been working on this since last night and finally got a good pattern down for adding all my VMs. Installed Ubuntu 19.04 like you said and did virtIO, then just kept updating to 20.04 and everything is good! Been stuck on this for like 2-3 weeks thank you for the help

Glad I could Help I know how frustrating it can be when your trying to do some thing and it just is nt working even tho you have spent weeks researching it, and even worse is when you post on some board asking for help and you get the typical res ponce that make no sense to what your asking or get "Google it dude man!! "
