Hello TrueNAS community,

I bought the Mini-PC HM80 with 2x 2,5" SSD and 1x M.2 SSD. On the M.2 I run the TrueNAS Scale system. And the 2,5" SSDs are my storage for my Raid 1 system.

But I always get write errors on one sata port on the mainboard. I already changed the cable and the drives and its always only on the one sata port. So I am pretty sure the drives and the cables are fine. I already contacted the seller and they told me this:

"If it is a non-Windows system, such as pve, it is very likely to have this kind of problem and cannot be fixed.".

I don't know what to say. Is it really a issue with software like pve or TrueNAS? I don't think so. But I want to be sure, so thats why I want to ask you if this error happen often on TrueNAS systems or do you think my sata port on the mainboard is broken.

I added two screenshots of my TrueNAS installation with the erros. Also I added a screenshots of a smart scan of one drive which was connected to the (maybe) broken sata port.

Thank you very much... I hope I can use TrueNAS very soon.. its so bad to have this problem now.

If you can, download free trial Windows and prove it out so you can get better interaction with their support

Is it possible to get more details of these WRITE errors? At the moment I can only see that I have x write errors, but more details about this would be great. Or does these errors mean TrueNAS tried x times to write data and it was not possible? Or does it mean only some data failed to get written?

I found in the logs the file "messages". Here is the log with the write error. Maybe someone understand these log entries and know what the problem is? Thanks....

did you ever resolve this?
I am having a very similar issue with a brand new Asrock Rack 246 WSI.
Only one SATA3 port causing write errors, and the SMART logs showing increasing CRC errors.
