My TrueNAS has been progressively upgraded from about 11.x from memory.
Everything seemed to work ok, until I added a new user and tried to share a subdata set.
Now I see nothing is what it is supposed to be.
I've tried to strip the ACLs, but still can't get it reset correctly.

Home User Dataset
Options = Passthrough
user/group = me:me
group@ = modify, no inherit
everyone@ = traverse, no inherit
owner@ = full control, inherit
group = me, full control, inherit

Home User Share
Private SMB dataset and shares
use as home
ShareACL. S-1-1-0, Full, Allowed
user/group = me:me
group@ = modify, no inherit
everyone@ = traverse, no inherit
owner@ = full control, inherit
group = me, full control, inherit

Windows10 behaviour:
Me
Explorer Home Directory: Everyone= Special, me User = special, me group = special
Explorer Home Sub-Directory: Everyone= Special, me User = special, me group = special
Explorer Home Directory file: Everyone= Read, me User = read/writer/special, me group = read

User (non admin)
Explorer Home Directory: Everyone= Special, user1 User = special, user1 group = special
Explorer Home Sub-Directory: Everyone= Special, user1 User = special, user1 group = special
Explorer Home Directory file: Everyone= Read, user1 User = read/writer/special, user1 group = read

- when explorer \\truenas all user home shares can be seen but not contents (desired not to see other user home shares)
- when mapping another user home share, is shows as user2 \\truenas, but the content is user1

I will wait to see if someone can help me fix the home dataset/shares first (maybe that will also help be to fix the group shared drive)

AHH... tried creating a file and directory from both a Linux and windows client from the user me
when I view the permissions on the Windows machine, I get;

linux_directory Everyone= Special, me User = special, me group = special
linux_file Everyone= Read, me User = read/write/special, me group = read

win_directory Everyone= Special, me User = special, me group = special
win_file Everyone= Read, me User = read/write/special, me group = read

local_directory (admin user)
authenticated users = modify, read/execute, read, write, list folder contents
administrators= modify, read/execute, read, write, full_control, list folder contents
users= read/execute, read, list folder contents
local_file (admin_user) groups
authenticated users = modify, read/execute, read, write
administrators= modify, read/execute, read, write, full_control
users= read/execute, read
