Sorry I am a FreeNAS noob. I just got this email:

The volume tank (ZFS) status is DEGRADED

How do I find out what issue might be?

Log in to the web GUI, click the Storage button on top of the screen, select your pool (tank) from the list, and click on Volume Status button (looks kind of like a blank sheet of paper) at the bottom.

ETA: That's assuming you're using a current version of FreeNAS--it would help if you posted the version you were using.

Hardware, FreeNAS version and pool configuration would most certainly help.
