Hello, I am by no means an expert with FreeNAS, but I have installed it a few times with zero problems. Of course when I try to install it for my own benefit, it gives me trouble.

I am seeing several errors when trying to install to my USB thumb drive. I bought a 16GB just for the OS, then I bought a couple 4 GB ones just to eliminate the possibility it was my USB Drive. I have tried to install to my HDD just for kicks, and that fails immediately. I think that's an issue with RAID, but I can't be sure.

I am installing it from a CD-ROM. I don't seem to have any issues once I tell my server what the boot order is in the BIOS. I have also tried plugging the USB key in after the FreeNAS is booted up ( giving me the option to install / upgrade, shell, reboot)

I am installing from 9.3 Stable. [FreeNAS-9.3-STABLE-201501212031.iso]

Here are my "server" specs:

I am also seeing "Error 5, Unretryable error". (see below)

Anything is helpful at this point! Thanks for reading.

My guess would be unsupported hardware. That's really old stuff. Even if you did get it up and running, the FSB would prove to be a major bottleneck.

Make sure RAID is deactivated in the BIOS and that the drives are set to plain AHCI.
