System_dataset, where to store it

Just something that I have noticed recently, is that the system_dataset on my NAS box is on one of the little used volumes, backup_data, but previously I have had it on the main volume where my media is stored.

Also I notice in the dropdown list that I could even have it on Freenas_boot.

Where should I place it?

As it writes often, it's better to have it in one of your pools. But this may stop your disks from spinning down.
