Yes, this is what I talk about
"Also available are direct-attach SFP+'s, where two SFP+ modules have been permanently connected together via twinax cable. These are essentially patch cables for SFP+. "
The Brocade is about ten times less price than other card.
I understand that 10GB can be too much for some people, but in time of SSD we are very easy to go for speed over than 10Gb/s also at home.

I personally wouldn't be the guinea pig that buys one. But if someone wanted to give me one to test I could let you know. I already run 10Gb, so I'm not asking to keep the card.

No cheap Brocade in EU :(
Alternate cheap card is only FC/4Gb and Infiniband/2x10Gb. Do these card work?

I think TFM says Infiniband is not supported.

I think TFM says Infiniband is not supported.

That is correct. There's some hacky ways to do it with some hardware, but you're basically on your own to do it.

Sure I wait for Infiniband.
So, at the end I can choose between those cards:
- IBM DELL 43W7510 4GB Fibre Channel Single Port PCIe HBA - Emulex FC1120005-02C - 15$
- Sun 375-3397-01 Microstems 4GB PCI-E Dual Port Fibre Channel - 30$
- HP 4Gb PCIe-to-Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapter A8002A 397739-001 - 30$
- SUN/HP/QLogic 4GB HBA PCIe FC HBA. 407620-001 AE311-60001 375-3355-02 QLE2460 - 30$
- Emulex FC HBA 4GB PCI-Express LPE1150 P/N: FC1120005-04A - 30$

Also ther's NetApp / Chelsio Dual Port 10Gbe PCIe HBA Adapter 111-00293 A2 , but is 110$ and is too much expensive, so is only if the other cards don't work.

Someone can suggest me which card I can use (freenas + esxi)?
Thanks

You can't really complain about the price...if you want it to work with FreeNAS natively youll need an above solution, if you want to do it through ESXi (not recommended) then you can look at ESXi's hardware compatibility list for which OS you choose ( I.E. 5.0 - 5.5)

I would bet the HP on would work with ESXi, but i dont have any HP cards to test with so i cant say 100%

Is not through ESXi, is a direct connection between freenas server and esxi server. I don't need certificated hardware, I need cheap hardware that is knowing to work (also can be different card, one for esxi and one for freenas, with the same technology).

Well theres a forum link above to cards that are known working, if theyre not cheap enough then you could take random shots in the dark with what does and doesnt work, return a few, buy a few more. or have one work and then have it fail later on or give you errors ( as cyber would say im sure )

This thread is for 10Gb NIC discussion. I *will* start deleting any discussions about FC as they are NOT discussing the topic at hand. Thanks.

I just got a Solarflare dual 10Gbit SFP+ card from eBay. Price was 70€ for a new card. The card is working just fine with FreeNAS-11.2-U7. I use it in passthrough mode in ESXI 6.7 U3. Therefore I had to install the legacy drivers from the Solarflare site. No drivers need in FreeNAS. Speed is awesome!

Just confirming Intel X520-DA2 ($65) works great on 11.3 u4.1.
My desktop has an Emulex IBM 10Gb card in it and everything seems solid for 1 week now.
