i have this wifi adapter built in to my motherboard.

i have added the following lines to /boot/loader.conf
Code:
if_urtwn_load="YES"
legal.realtek.license_ack=1

but they do not appear to have any effect. nothing shows in dmesg or kldstat

i have a few other usb wifi adapters, but they do not seem to be picked up either. I don't know exactly what they are, but I tried with
Code:
if_ath_load="YES"
for good measure, without any noticeable result.

the nas has no connection to the internet, but is instead connected by ethernet to a nearby mac.

meaning that support has been removed from the kernel? or simply that time should not be wasted on such a thing? it seems to still be included in vanilla freebsd 10.
