Super noob, Im getting "network error windows cannot access pool" please help

so as the title states im getting a network error when i try to sign into my user data set so i can map a drive letter to my nas and start using it. I did a smb data set as well so everything is setup right as far as i can tell but everytime i enter my user name and password i get a box that comes up and says network error.

so far I just got done building the server, installing truenas, and making a pool with a user dataset and a smb dataset. that is everything i have done

if anyone can help me i would greatly appreciate it

first question, did you give the user permissions to the dataset shared by smb? datasets default to root only access.
