Applied update via FreeNAS webUI to 11.1 install. System rebooted and is stuck at "grub>" prompt.
I don't recall if I was at 11.1-RELEASE and the update was 11.1-U1 or I was already at 11.1-U1 and the update was 11.1-U2. Making matter worse, it appears that the only backup I have is for previous 11.0-U4 config.
Neither a new CMOS battery nor various BIOS configurations remediates the issue.
Obviously, data recovery is my primary objective. Secondarily, I'd have two (11.1?) jails that I'd prefer not to lose.
Is it possible to remove the OS drive, connect it to another computer and extract my FreeNAS config? If not, how should I proceed?
[Edit]
Clonezilla'd the offending CompactFlash to an ATA hard drive which booted to 11.1-U2. Does FreeNAS have issues with CF drives or is it more likely my CF corrupted?
