Hey guys,
I've recently set up a FreeNAS 8.0.3 server at work connected to a Samba4 AD domain. One of the problems I've faced with it though is if the FreeNAS server restarts for whatever reason (whether a crash or planned reboot), all currently logged in Windows users are unable to reconnect to CIFS shares when it comes back up, displaying the error "Login failed: unknown user name or bad password." Logging out and back in again seems to fix it, but it's not something you want happening in the middle of the day in a business. It also seems to only happen on Windows computers; my Linux workstation picks up right where it left off as soon as the FreeNAS server comes back online, so I assume it has something to do with the way Windows handles authentication (probably caching something or other).
I've spent countless hours Googling but have found nothing. Has anyone else come across this problem? Has anyone got any ideas for a fix?
