Getting error on AFP share - Sorry, an error occurred.

I'm getting the above message when I click on 'Volume status' (AFP share in GUI), and cannot see the share from my mac. Here's what I did:

1. Installed to USB flash drive using keta & dd

2. Installed existing disks from old NAS (running NAS-Lite or something...)

3. Booted, Import Volume; checked via shell it's mounted ok, all good, can see files

4. Created AFP share - couldn't browse (only thing listed was '/', so manually typed '/mnt/volumename') - result 'AFP share successfully added'

Have I missed something out or done something wrong?

Anyone ?? I also have an additional question now about how tolerant FreeNAS would be about me running apache on it for a couple of (small) websites...?

I've never used AFP shares so I can't help. But I will tell you that FreeNAS was designed to be used as a file server and not much else. That's changing slightly with 8.2 with the plugins. But unless you wish to dabble with a Beta I'm not sure I'd recommend it.

I think the main problem seems to be that when I try to change the permissions on a volume, I get an error in the GUI saying "This field is required" just above the check boxes.
