hi there i have ran a TRUENas core NAS for around 120 ish days and only recently it has started to become extremely slow and unresponsive
i try to copy a 100MB rar file to test the speed and it stays on calculating for around a minute then starts transfering at anywhere from 0 - 300 ish kbps and the cpu sits at around 4%

specs |--
chassis: HP ProLiant MicroServer
CPU: AMD Turion(tm_ II Neo N40L 2 core)
RAM: 12GB ddr3 2666
NIC: says bge0 so i assume broadcom
drives: 4 3TB SEAGATE ST33000650NS
raid: raidz1

if any more information is needed i can send

How full is your pool? This is expected behavior if your pool is above 80% occupancy, due to free space fragmentation.

OK, then your problem is RAM starvation. The recommended minimum RAM for TrueNAS is 16 GB, and you only have 12 GB. Can you screen shot the memory pie from the Dashboard?

it still says that there is 4 GiB free in the dashboard atm which shouldnt affect performance until it is full?

Please screen shot the memory pie like I requested. How much is allocated to cache, and how much to services?

Click the graph icon at the upper right of the Memory Dashboard. This should take you to the Reporting graphs for memory. Screen shot those please. It still looks like RAM starvation to me, if SMB services are only consuming 2.9 GB.
