I am trying to only allow some hosts to SMB share's. Using CORE.
Option available at Advanced Options of the share.

If i use my IP it works fine. If i use DNS names pointing to this IP it does not works.
Tried: hostname of Suse installation (linux-5q3o; not in DNS), DNS name (lenovodock), DNS fqdn (lenovodock.local). Both DNS names can be pinged from the NAS terminal.

Nameserver setting under Network Summary seems correct: <my gateway ip>

The "hostname lookups" option mentioned in https://www.truenas.com/community/t...osts-allow-does-not-work-with-hostname.57154/ does not exist?

You'll have to enable that option via an auxiliary parameter.
Hi, I am too having the same issue, are you able to please point out to the parameter within the document you shared?

Also found this older thread but the option described there doesn't seem to exist any longer, https://www.truenas.com/community/t...osts-allow-does-not-work-with-hostname.57154/

Have read the document a couple of times but I am def missing the how to set it and what to set for this auxiliary parameter

Thanks!
