SMB and NFSv4 on existing dataset?

I would like to set up multiprotocol SMB and NFS sharing. The documentation recommends creating a new dataset and setting 'share type' to 'multiprotocol'.

I have an existing dataset. If I try to edit it, no 'share type' option is available. Am I unable to use multiprotocol sharing?

What exactly does the 'share type' setting do?

Are you on Cobia? This is a new feature and it sets some special settings to ensure the two protocols play nicely together.

Good to know, I was about to post from readings past, should not share the same data sets with NFS and SMB due to how permissions are handled between them.

Yes, I was excited when I saw the feature. How do I migrate my existing dataset to take advantage of it?
