I've been running FreeNAS on my current NAS which is running an AMD A8-7600 on an ASRock FM2A88X-ITX+ motherboard, however, this have been beginning to feel quite slow for some of my tasks, which includes jails for Plex, OpenVPN, Deluge and Handbrake to name a few, on top of that I have also run out of bays for more 3.5" hard drives and I am even running an SSD over the eSATA port for the jails and the mSATA for FreeNAS. It is also located in my dorm room, so I am aiming for some quiet performance when idle.

The system I have been eyeing is as follows

Harddrives I will be bringing over from my current NAS, which is 4x Western Digital Red 3TB (WDC WD30EFRX-68EUZN0), two of which have been replaced over the years and 2x Western Digital Red 8TB (WDC WD80EFZX-68UW8N0).
I've spent a while on researching the parts, so I am quite sure that they are compatible, but I have been having a hard time finding info on the performance of the i3-9350k outside of gaming benchmarks, and I am also a bit concerned about the TDP of the CPU (95W), since the clearance in the case is really low (57mm), but I think I managed to find a good compromise between performance and noise and size.

Once TrueNAS SCALE will release I will probably transition to that from TrueNAS Core as well, since I prefer the Docker virtualization over jails.
