I recently set up my first FreeNAS server, everything works great except for the transfer speeds. I'm not getting anything above 20-22 MB/s.
Tried to troubleshoot, but everything seems fine and couldn't find any reasons on what might be the bottleneck.
Here is my setup:
CPU: Dual Core, 2.9GHz, 2MB cache, Intel Celeron G3930 Kaby Lake
RAM: 16 GB : 2xKingston ValueRam DDR4 2133MHz 8GB ECC
HDD: 1TB mirror : 2x1TB WD Red, SATA 6GB/s (SATA 3.0)
Network: Gigabit Ethernet, Realtek RTL8111H
Connecting from MacbookPro via AFP, using WiFi.
When copying files from one location in FreeNas to another the speeds are much higher.
Speeds are much lower when writing/reading via the network.
