As I already said, for only once a day I'd probably do it if it's down for more than a few hours, something like 10 hours for example ;)

Even doing it once a day doesn't resolve the NAS expectations of running smart tests or snapshots, or scrubs.

Freenas does not expect to be turned off like that.

He can always run the tests when the NAS is up. It's not the best thing but it's not very bad either.
