Hi,

I would like to storage in my FreeNAS the images from security system.
My DVR send data only by FTP, so to be able to create folder I've created a new Dataset with Unix, a client and group named "dvr" and start to write data there. (first I tryed to create a dataset with Windows but received error 550 when trying to create folder with FTP)

So I would like to able of read this data in my PC (windows), without downloading it by FTP client.
It´s possible to share with Samba this dataset?
I can not corrupt this data in anyway.

Thanks!

What´s the meaning of it?
I need to add on proftpd.conf?
With this code I can share the Unix Dataset with Samba to use only to read?

Thanks!

Samba shares on FreeNAS have the ZFS aclmode property set to 'restricted', which prevents chmod operations from working. I believe the parameter I listed above will basically have proftp tell clients that chmod isn't allowed, which should work around the '550' error you mentioned above. (Assuming that the inability to chmod is causing the problem, and not having your permissions configured wrong).

That would be my first choice for samba shares. I only deviate if circumstances necessitate doing otherwise.
I create a new dataset and user, with windows type.
But when I try to create a folder with Filezilla receive the following:

Comando: MKD /Nova pasta
Resposta: 550 /Nova pasta: Operation not permitted

I added the code you sent to ftp conf in services.

Found a problem, the DVR send the images to FTP server with 7 minute delay.
It´s not real time or even close to this.

So, I will use the DVR software at Windonws FreeNAS VM to record in real time.
In that way I do not need the ftp for this.

Thanks!
