Writing files to a cifs volume

Deleted a few, got this error on one of them, obviously will not allow deletion.

Did a scrub, no problems encountered

Any ideas?

No. It seems to be some kind of bug when writing windows data files to a nfs share mounted as samba, which the gui allows u to set up

If I go into a freenas shell and do a rm, it goes away but from windows side, cannot be deleted

OK, this sounds like a classic case of using a UNIX dataset. Check out the video in my signature for a how-to configure Samba shares/datasets.

I did switch to smb dataset and haven't seen this since

My statement was that seeing 'invalid file handle' is something that has to imply a bug as it should never be seen. Permission denied, admin priv required etc -yes. But never 'invalid file handle' because a condition that causes that is not a normal occurance
