Hello, I want to know if anybody had my problem described below, or any of you have an idea how to fix it.
I have the following SETUP:
1 x Dell R720 8 Bay model with 1 x LSI 9207-8i for the 8 direct attached drives ( front of server ), p20 firmware
1 x Dell MD 1200, firmware 1.06 attached with 2 sas cabels to the dell R720, LSI 9207-8e, p20 firmware
1 x Dell MD 1220, firmware 1.06 attached with 2 sas cabels to the dell R720, LSI 9207-8e, p20 firmware
Freenas 11.1 u7
200 GB of ram
Freenas installed on 2 x SSD.
R720 HDD's and MD 1200 HDD's in 1 raid 10 pool
MD1220 hdd's in 1 raid 10 pool
The 12 3.5 inch drives in the MD1200 are SAS Dual-Port, the 8 drives in the R720 are SAS and SATA mix ( 6 SATA and 2 SAS )
The drive's in the MD1220 are Samsung QVO 1 TB SSD ( 2 pc's )
My problem is that i cannot see multi-path for my MD1200 in the GUI.
When i first set up this build, and created the 20 pcs raid 10 setup, the MD1200 was connected to the R720 with 1 SAS CABEL, the second cabel was added last week.
In the BIOS of the LSI 9207-8E i can see the drives correctly on both sas ports and controllers.
IN freenas i have no Multi-path Option in GUI, but my drives show up in Volum Manager twice.
My guess is that i have to nuke the MBR, since it was written on the drives when i used 1 SAS connection, and re-make the pool, but i wold not do that if i can do it another way, even if it is more complicated, since this is a production storage. I need multi-path for redundancy.
It is like my drives multi-path is showing up as different individual disk's
I have attached some screen-shot's, if you need any other info, please let me know.
