Hello, I am working on making my own NAS server and I choose FreeNAS as my software, Everything worked fine with it and the installation was pretty much straight forward until I wanted to configure the permissions. I do have some experience with windows server and the permissions there but this seemed to be a whole different story.
So what I would like to do is:
Make folder A accessable by group/user X but not by group/user Y.
Make folder B accessable by group/user Y but not by group/user X.
At the moment when I am making CIFS shares and different folders that way, they all seem to point at the same Volume I created and therefore EVERYONE gets access to either nothing or everything on the volume.
Is the only way to fix this to put in more HDDs and restrict the volumes instead or am I missing something?
