Hello,

I am in the beginning stages of building a solution for my work that includes offsite replication. I would like to keep the NAS locked behind the firewall and use a SSH relay server in a DMZ. I already know how the configure my firewall for DMZ and port forwarding and that is not my question. I just wanted to know if someone has setup replication with a SSH relay server? If not, can it be done?

Here is a link to a SSH relay question where I got this idea. http://serverfault.com/questions/72343/ssh-relay-server-with-openssh

Thanks,

Erik

why make things complicated, when you can create a vpn tunnel.

I did think about that. There were some issues that made me rule it out. The proposed location would be my bosses home office and I would not want a persistent VPN tunnel open or extra equipment . If a relay will not work, I can just open the firewall on a different port and map it to 22.
