replacing the right drives for expansion

Any suggestions on chasis that I swap over my existing hardware and add 6 more hard drives?

The Supermicro 826 is a good 2U 12-bay chassis--you might want to consider just looking for a used server, rather than a used chassis, though.

Edit: This looks like a good choice for the chassis--you'll need a SAS HBA to run the backplane, but that will greatly simplify cabling. This listing looks like a nice choice for a turnkey server (admittedly overkill, but what's wrong with a little overkill?).
