Replace m1015 with HP sas explander

So on my server i have 2 m1015 that run 8 drives each for a total of 16 drives.

I was thinking about removing one of the m1015 and replacing it with an HP SAS Expander, connect the m1015 to the expander then the expander to the 16 drives.

Question - its currently setup as JBOD with a zraid, after moving over the drives will i lose the zraid configuration and the data? OR will it just work?

As long as FreeNAS has direct access to the drives you are fine.
