Replace a drive with a hot spare does not work

Hi Folks!

I have a problem replacing a failed drive with a hot spare.

One of my drives is faulty and I want to replace it with a hot spare.
But the procedure does not work.

I go to Storage → Volumes → View Volumes.
I choose the faulty drive which is still online. Push "Replace" and the dialogue is prompted. But it only provides the disk itself in the drop down box. If I push the replace butten I get an error message saying that an error occurred. Nothing more.

If I do the procedure with the hot spare disk it's the same.

I tried to offline the faulte disk and then replace it. Didn't work.

So how is the procedure to replace a faulty disk with a hot spare?

Did you follow the manual's instructions? My guess is you didn't, since you'd know that hot spares aren't supported in FreeNAS at the moment.

I recommend you try the manual's procedure and then follow up if it doesn't work.
