I'm using Truenas Core release 12.0-U8.1, all fine until yesterday when my Nas stopped, the terminal indicated that a "pass file" was not in the kernal and to install one, everything from there was locked up so no chance to look further. I rebooted, but the startup stopped at "middlewared:setting up plugins (datastore) 1/60" where it sat until going to a terminal login prompt. This problem has a couple of posts in the forum where the consensus is to reinstall OS and if I don't touch my pool the data should remain intact however my plugins will have to be reinstalled and configured (I have backups for most but not all), I'm time poor and that's a lot of time.
I rolled back the boot environment to release 12.0-U8, it worked and I'm back on track, problem is on rebooting the corrupted 12.0-U8.1 release will start. My query is can I remove the corrupted 12.0-U8.1 release if so where does it live, if I can do that the latest release can be installed via UI and my plugins are not affected.
