Probable FreeNAS adopter

Hello FreeNAS folks,

I'm in the process of building two personal NAS machines, each with ~30TB usable storage.
It might take a 1-2 months to freeze on hardware and software options.

OSes: OpenIndiana, FreeNAS or Linux (distro undecided) or any other flavor based on Illumos?

Considering Hybrid option too (adding SSDs).

I hope to have a good 'educating' time with you guys.

I'm aware of cyberjock's FreeNAS guide, thanks.
I'll download it now because I'm new to ZFS/FreeNAS, but not to ZFS/UNIX systems (Solaris et al).
