I'd like to migrate from outdated FreeNAS 11 HP 360Gen6 hosted to another server HP 360Gen8 with Smartarray P420i and truenas 13 U3.
Current config is Smartarray P400
HW Raid1: 2xSAS drives for system
4xHW Raid0 1.8T added to RaidZ1 Tank.

Which scenario of 2 is better for HP 360Gen8 with Smartarray P420i:

Scenario1:
HW Raid1: 2xSAS drives for system
3xHW Raid0 0.9T added to RAIDz1 ---> vdev0---> Tank.
3xHW Raid0 1.8T added to RAIDz1 ---->vdev1---> Tank.

Scenario2:
HW Raid1: 2xSAS drives for system
3xHW Raid5 0.9T added to RAIDz0 ---> vdev0---> Tank.
3xHW Raid5 1.8T added to RAIDz0 ---->vdev1---> Tank.

I have searched different information in the Internet, but even adding H220 HBA card with P20/IT/IR firmware is not a guarantee of 100% working. List of possible problems is:
1) 100% fan speed, as hp server could think that hba is not original
2) some drives could be not identified
3) inappropriate cables
4) switching P420i to near-HBA mode brings disability to boot and does not give access to smart
I think that scenario 2 is better.

I think that scenario 2 is better.

Neither scenario is acceptable.

I propose Scenario 3, tie the server to the back of a truck and road-haul it to the junkyard if you cannot get the fans or cabling or whatever to work out. TrueNAS does not guarantee compatibility with every possible server platform you might come up with. You really need to check out the recommended hardware guide in the Resources section.
